Trauma-Informed Resources following Apalachee High School Shooting

Our hearts are heavy as we grapple with the devastating news of the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.  We are deeply concerned for the victims and their families, and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time.  The impact of such a tragedy is felt deeply across our entire community.  Therefore, we are sharing information to help guide support for those who are grieving.  As always, if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to contact my office.

Local Resources:

  • United Way of Northeast Georgia 2-1-1: Contact 2-1-1 for free and confidential health and human services information in the area. To get connected to a certified resource specialist, simply dial 2-1-1 from a cell phone.
