Collins Appointed to House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology
Washington - Today, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) was appointed to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology for the 118th Congress. Collins released the following statement after his appointment to the committee:
“As a member of the House Science Committee, I look forward to advocating for policies that will ensure America remains the world’s leader in technological innovation. From Space exploration to research and development in key industries such as energy, this committee’s work helps keep our country on the cutting edge. I look forward to serving with Chairman Frank Lucas to find innovative solutions to complex 21st century problems.”
Background
The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee has a wide jurisdiction covering nearly all aspects of energy, aeronautical, and other non-defense research. The Committee has authority over all federally owned and operated non-military laboratories and oversight of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, and the National Weather Service.
