The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide event that allows students to compete with their peers by creating a software application, or "app," for the internet, personal computer, tablet, mobile device, or other platform of their choice. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is rapidly growing, and the competition provides students a great opportunity to explore their scientific curiosity.
The Congressional Award is the highest Congressional honor for America's youth. It is a public-private partnership created by the United States Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service in America's young people.
A young person is not selected to receive the Congressional Award - he or she earns it. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas:
