Collins Votes to End Biden WOTUS Rule, Protect America’s Waters from Federal Power Grab

March 9, 2023

Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.J. Res. 27, a resolution of congressional disapproval of the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule issued by the Biden administration. Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.), who voted in favor of the resolution, issued this statement after passage:

“The WOTUS rule is an attempt by the Biden administration to give the federal government control over nearly all bodies of water in America no matter their size. This power grab is one of the most blatant examples of federal overreach imaginable, and it was implemented despite a pending Supreme Court case that will determine the EPA’s authority to regulate under the Clean Water Act. Today, I was proud to stand with House Republicans to protect farmers, ranchers, small businesses, and property owners across America that will be harmed by this liberty-threatening rule.”
