Federal Disaster Declared in Four GA-10 Counties

January 17, 2023

Butts, Henry, Jasper, and Newton County residents are now eligible to apply for federal aid.

Washington – Last night, President Biden approved a major disaster declaration for seven counties in Georgia in the wake of last week’s devastating storms. Four of the seven counties are in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District (Butts, Henry, Jasper, and Newton). Representative Mike Collins (GA-10) issued this statement following president’s action:

“Our hearts are with those who experienced loss because of last week’s catastrophic storms. For the many Georgians working to rebuild their homes and businesses, help is on the way. With this federal disaster declaration, individuals who experienced property damage may apply for grants through FEMA to help cover the cost of temporary housing, home repairs, and more.”
