FY25 Community Project Funding Requests

Community Project Funding requests direct funding to specific governmental entities or nonprofit organizations. The CPF program is being implemented with accountability measures to ensure a responsible and transparent process. Through this program, Members of Congress request funding for specific projects in their districts to serve the public good and keep the public informed on details of projects submitted to the House Appropriations Committee. Not every CPF request submitted by a Member of Congress will be included in the FY25 appropriations bills.

The following are some of the projects that have been submitted by Congressman Collins for funding consideration.

Bobcat Business Incubator

Explanation of Request:
The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Georgia College and State University will operate the Bobcat Business Incubator on campus in Milledgeville. The Bobcat Business Incubator will provide new and existing businesses space on campus to work use for hosting events and taking meetings with potential clients. Local businesses and students will also have access to staff with subject matter expertise via appointment, one-on-one counseling and through community outreach events to help establish and grow their business. This will result in additional economic development in the region which will be calculated by each touch point the center makes with the community. Funding from this request will be used to renovate the space in the library so it meets the needs of the incubator.

This project is a valuable use of taxpayer funding, because investing in our rural communities and allowing them to access the resources to develop their economies will make these communities healthier, happier, and better places to raise a family. It will also provide for individuals to move off social services to be able to provide for themselves. The taxpayer also has an invested interest in growing American industry to be competitive and provide a base for economic development.
