Washington D.C. - On Monday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 8812, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2024. This legislation, when enacted, will authorize projects and programs of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the House bill included several provisions authored by Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) to address critical water infrastructure needs for the state of Georgia, and our country as a whole.

Monroe, GA – Today, Representative Mike Collins (GA-10) announced that he will host the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District. This nationwide event allows students to compete with their peers by creating their own unique app that can be run on a computer, tablet, smartphone, or other electronic device.

Washington, D.C.—Today, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) and Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) introduced a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to overturn a new rule by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that would require power plants to adhere to stringent wastewater standards based on inadequate data and technology. 

Washington, D.C.—Today, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) issued the following statement after his amendment to clear the runway for commercial hypersonic travel in the future was signed into law by President Biden as part of H.R. 3935, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.

"As hypersonic manufacturers work to make high-speed, high-altitude passenger travel a reality, the FAA must think ahead and be ready to certify and integrate these new aircraft into our national airspace," said Rep. Collins.

Washington, D.C.–This week, Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) will honor Jackson County Deputy Lena Marshall at a prayer vigil and flag laying ceremony hosted by Speaker Mike Johnson as part of National Police Week. 

Deputy Lena Marshall was shot in the line of duty on November 5, 2021, in Hoschton, Georgia, while responding to a domestic disturbance call. She succumbed to her gunshot wounds at a local hospital three days later.
